Red Hill Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir
Wine
Onannon Red Hill Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir draws from the winery's home vineyard at Red Hill. It is a warm site, situated at 90 metres altitude on a northern aspect.
The winemaking is tailored to suit each vintage. In some years, all the fruit is fermented as whole bunches while in others a portion is destemmed. After several weeks on skins, the wine is pressed.
Maturation takes place in barrel over 12 months. Select parcels are chosen for the final blend, which spends two months integrating in tank before being prepared for bottling.
Dark red, Onannon Red Hill Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir has ripe red fruit flavours, earthy complexity and fine, silky tannins. Cellaring potential is five years.
